'We Can Mind the Time'

Conscious of how the passage of time was eroding the village's memory of its own past, the Trust supported a project to record the village's history as remembered by a number of older residents - the 'memory bearers.'
A book, 'We Can Mind the Time', published in 2005, records for posterity their accounts of village life.

Having been funded by a heritage Lottery Fund grant there is a short report about the project on the Local Heritage Initiative site.
